ACTIVITY 1

Answer the following questions:

(a) Where did the monkey live?

Ans: The monkey lived on the bank of the river.

(b) Why was there no danger for the monkey on the river island?

Ans: There was no danger for the monkey because there was hardly any other animal on the river island.

(c) What was so attractive to the monkey?

Ans: The delicious fruits were so attractive to the monkey.

(d) Where did the crocodile live?

Ans: The crocodile lived on the far bank of the river.

(e) Who gave advice to the crocodile about catching the monkey?

Ans: The crocodile’s wife gave advice to the crocodile about catching the monkey.

Answer the following questions:

Ans: The crocodile swam to the rock.

Ans: The monkey was suspicious because the rock became so large that day.

(c) What was the monkey’s suggestion to the crocodile?

Ans: The monkey’s suggestion to the crocodile was to open his mouth wide and he will jump straight into his mouth.

Ans: The monkey told the crocodile from his safe shelter was “You foolish crocodile! You can never catch me. No doubt you’re bigger than me, but you’re a bigger fool tool!”

Let’s write a short story in eight sentences with the following hints. Give it a title.

A fox fell into a well – failed to get out – a goat came – fox asked goat to drink water from the well – goat jumped in – fox climbed on the goat’s back – got out – goat remained in the well.

Title : The Clever Fox and The Foolish Goat

Once a fox was moving around a village. He wasn’t careful. Suddenly, he fell into a well. He tried his best but failed to get out of the well. A few minutes later a goat came and peeped into the well. Then the fox asked the goat to drink water from the well. The goat believed the fox and jumped into the well. As soon as the goat fell into the well, the fox climbed on the goat’s back. Thus he got out from the well. The goat remained in the well.
