Ans: P.T. Usha could not perform to her ability in New Delhi Asian Games, she could only win silver medals in the 100 metres and the 200 metres sprint.

(2) Two Olympic games are mentioned in the text. When did these take place? Where were these held?

Ans: Two Olympic games took place in 1980 and 1984. 1980 Olympic games were held in Moscow and 1984 Olympic games were held in Los Angeles.

Let’s answer the following questions:

Ans: Usha was just 22 years old when she participated in the Seoul Asiad.

Ans: The four events Usha won in the 1986 Seoul Asiad were the 200 metres, the 400 metres, the 400 metres hurdles and the 4×400 metres relay race.

(3) How popular is Usha in her state?

Ans: Usha is a living legend in her state Kerala, where newborn babies are regularly named after her.
