Meaning of ‘Flow’.
In psychology, “Flow” refers to a state of optimal experience and engagement where individuals are fully immersed in an activity and experience a sense of energized focus and enjoyment. This concept was introduced by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and is also sometimes referred to as “being in the zone.”
The state of flow is characterized by a balance between the perceived challenge of the task and the individual’s skills and abilities. When the challenge is too high relative to their abilities, individuals may feel overwhelmed and anxious, whereas when the challenge is too low, they may become bored or disengaged. But when the challenge is just right for their level of expertise, they can experience a state of flow.
